What Heeron does with your family’s information.
Last updated September 2026. This notice is for the version of Heeron that runs on your own computer.
What we collect
What you type in: names, birthdays, addresses and phone numbers; what exists in the family’s affairs (banks, policies, the will, powers of attorney) and where it’s kept; health information you choose to add (medications, conditions, appointments, hospital visits); documents you upload, after sensitive numbers are removed; and a log of who in the circle did what, and when.
What we never collect
Full account or card numbers, social insurance numbers, health card numbers or passwords. Heeron blocks them when they’re typed in and removes them from documents before anything is saved. Only the last 4 digits of an account are kept, encrypted.
Why
To show the family what exists, what’s missing and what’s coming up, and to warn you before something becomes a crisis. Nothing is used for advertising, sold, or shared outside the circle.
Where it’s stored
On this computer, in the Heeron folder. If you add an Anthropic API key, the text of documents you upload is sent to Claude to be read, after sensitive numbers are removed, and questions you ask about your documents are sent with the matching pages. Nothing else leaves the computer.
Who can see it
The coordinator sees everything. Everyone else sees only the areas the coordinator gives them, and health and money start hidden. The person being cared for decides while they’re able to, and their consent is recorded. Emergency links for hospital staff show only the one-pager and expire after 24 hours; the family is told each time one is opened.
Your choices
Anyone in the circle can download a copy of what they can see, leave the circle, or delete their account from “Your data”. The coordinator can download everything or delete the whole circle, which removes all of its information, including the activity log.
Questions
This local version doesn’t send your information to Heeron, so there’s no one at Heeron holding it. If Heeron is ever offered as a hosted service, this notice will be updated before any family’s information is stored there.
